How to recycle plastic plant pots
Most local councils collect pots, tubs & trays in their kerbside collections;
If your local council does, then you should be able to put non-black or brown food, herb and plant pots in with your normal kerbside recycling collection;
Check with them first to see if they accept plastic plant pots;
Some garden centres also offer plant pot take back schemes;
Currently black plant pots contain pigments which make them undetectable to the sorting machinery used to sort plastics, unlike other pots, tubs and trays used for food packaging.
